A mysterious new guy comes to town, Ted hides more shocking secrets while his marriage crumbles, and Rebecca brings Sutton into her twisted plans! The Lying Game’s second season isn’t short on drama, with a soundtrack to match.
“The music this season is darker and more mysterious,” Ann Kline, the show’s music supervisor, tells us. “Chuck Pratt is the executive producer of the show and he makes all the final choices and has great taste in music. He’s really open minded which gives me a lot of flexibility to use new and up and coming artists. It’s obvious that our audience is into fashion and music and so we really try to honor that with new, cool music to match the rest of the show.”

LyingGame.com: What are some of your favorite songs featured next season?
Ann Kline: There is a great song called “Hurricane” by Ms Mr in episode 4. My music coordinator Justine played me the song at the beginning of the season and we knew we had to use it. Some of my other favorites are: “Honest Feedback” by Saint Motel in Episode 5, there’s a great use of the song “You And Me” by Ben Rector in episode 6, and in episode 7 we use “Anymore Of This” by Matthew Perryman Jones and Mindy Smith. We’re still finishing the last episodes and there are some really cool songs we’re considering for the end of the season.
LG: Allie Gonino and her band will once again perform on The Lying Game. What can fans expect from The Good Mad this season?
AK: We do get to hear more from The Good Mad, as a matter of fact we hear them right from the start – so don’t miss the premiere.
LG: Helen Slater and Adrian Pasdar are also talented musicians; any chance their music will appear on the show?
AK: We haven’t finished the season quite yet, so I can’t say for sure.
LG: Speaking of Adrian, he’s married to Dixie Chicks’ Natalie Maines; have you considered asking the band to perform on the show or using their music in an episode?
AK: That would be amazing! We haven’t played that card YET – it would be a very cool to have them do anything for the show.
LG: Tell us about the show’s opening song. Who performs it and how did you decide on that one?
AK: “Gun For A Tongue” is the title and it’s a Butterfly Boucher song. I had nothing to do with picking the song but I can’t think of a better song for the show. The Warner Bros music department found the song, cut it to picture, sent it to all the powers that be and it was hands down everyone’s favorite!
